They have a website at www.provo.org which can be quite helpful. I think people who have been here a long time take Provo for granted, newcomers are amazed at the cultural oppourtunities that are available here. The city does so many things right, they sponser many events, parades, and concerts. You need to go to the website and search around to stay up with the many current events that make this an exciting community to live in.

Nothing is sweeter than taking your car to these guys, getting the saftey and emissions taken care of and then for a nominal fee, paying for your registration right there and getting the new stickers for your car, right then. You avoid the line at the DMV and you get back on the road in no time...as long as your car passes.

These guys saved me once when I had an old style Trooper and they rebuilt the engine for me. The work was done right and we were able to keep the thing running for several years before giving it to one of our kids who promptly sold it to a friend. It's always fearful to have car repairs done because so many folks in the business are less compitent, but these guys get a thumbs up in my book!

These guys sponser the Provo Arts Council Candy Window projects every year. They are committed to making the downtown businesses thrive and do a lot toward getting people downtown. Just staying alive in the downtown area indicates that they are striving to make things better downtown.

I met Mark through his brother and he helped us with the design of the jacket for our Beginning Stained Glass DVD. The result was very professional looking and he was able to come up with a much better design than any of the two or three I had done for myself. So in this way, Mark proves to me that his work is very valuable and useful to me. And I no longer have to do everything myself!

Every year these buys sponser the Downtown Candy Window event that the Provo Arts Council puts on, which is reason enough to recomend them. But they go beyond the requirements, placing heaters out for the patrons, serving cocoa on opening night, really proving that they are interested in the community. While visting some of the candy windows last year, we went in the store and discovered magic tricks for sale that would make the perfect stocking stuffers and we bought several for our grandchildren,.

I went there for a tux for a wedding reception years ago, before I lived here and was treated well, prices were reasonable and I felt great about the experience. Imagine our surprise when the owners came to us years later and asked us to build some stained glass panels for their home. You may never see that glass, but it's beautiful and it was a treat to work with these nice people!

Wells Fargo Bank Northwest NA - Banking Locations- Provo Center Street | Provo, UT (801) 342-2302

Po Box 1218 Provo, UT 84603
I really feel that Wells Fargo trys to structure their banking to penalize a customer as much as possible. For example, suppose you have three checks outstanding that all come in at the same time, one is for 97.50, one is for 2 and one is for 50 cents. The total is one hundred dollars and you had 100 in your account when you wrote the checks, but the bank took three dollars out of your account the day before for a fee. This would leave you a little short on the total when the checks go through. If they were helpful and on your side, they would process the checks for 50 cents and 2 dollars first and then bounce or process the 97.50 check and hit you with a return fee. But instead, they take the largest check and process it casing a $35 overdraft fee, then process the 2 dollar check, create a second $35 fee and then hit you with another $35 fee for the check for 50 cents, so you're going to be $105 in the hole, just because they took their bank fee out before your checks cleared. I still bank with them, but I don't like them!

One of the hardest things for me is finding medical people whom I can trust. Once I find someone, I stick with them. Gary Wiest is a great dentist. I found him through an accquaintence and I have every confidence in him. His pricing is a little higher than going to the local clinic, but after some unsettling experiences with them, I have even more confidence in Dr. Wiest's ability.

You have to reccomend a store that closes on Sunday to give employees a decent day off and serves those huge ice cream cones. We were astonished at them, they tower over the little cones that the ice cream is placed into and the large cones are so tall, they automatically make the cone and then place it upside down in a tall paper cup so it won't fall over. Being close to a college campus, I would think this would be a huge draw for local students!

Mostly we shop there because it's close to home and we can do our banking there. They have a Wells Fargo branch in the store and it's the nearest banking to us. This is unfortunate because we've grown to despise the Wells Fargo system of banking. They are probably fine for normal people with normal incomes, but there policies have really messed up up on several occasions to the tune of hundreds of dollars of fines, caused by them. As a small business, cash flow can really be a problem and Wells often makes things hard for us. We love the employees at Albertsons, the prices are sometimes good and sometimes high so you have to be careful.

Okay, this is a really sideways reccomendation, but the rason Jeanne and I like Tahitian Noni is that the Assy's bought stained glass from us. We had a couple of pieces on consignment at a gallery at the riverwoods center and they sold one piece to them. Later the gallery owner (who was going out of business) asked us to help hang the stained glass. So we made arrangements to meet with the Assay's in that beautiful home/convention center they've built and we took the rest of the women of faith series panels that were completed with us. One look at them was all it took and they purchased them. So they own four of the seven women of faith. This came at a time when we really were struggling finacially (starving artists) and the sale was a real godsend!

I went to one of the big box home supply outlets and bought 3 oak boards that cost over $100. This really was a shock because I used to buy oak in bulk when my brother and I were making furniture up in Idaho and we bought hundreds of board feet of oak from our supplier. These local places really gouge you. I live near Pearson Cabinet, at the time the place hadn't been repainted and they looked abandoned or out of business, but I went in and the pricing and inventory of wood was so satisfactory. Great prices, 1/2 what Home Depot or Lowes charge.

He is by no means the cheapest guy around, but if you want one of a kind wood work that has been designed by someone with and eye for beauty, you've found him!
We have built stained glass panels for several clients that had RD do the woodwork and the results have been stunning. He says our glass makes his wood look better, we say his wood makes our glass look better.
These guys build beautiful, beautiful doors, entryways, cabinets and furniture.

I've been there several times and each time, I've felt ripped off. It feels like a self serve place with full resturant prices. Either the pricing is off or they need to figure out a way to make the experience more engaging. Maybe they need more unusual toppings on the bar to put on the burger, or they need to offer some sides. Bur what they're doing now just doesn't work for me.

We really love to go to Wingers, we used to go when they were at the University location but we have loyally followed them to the Mall. When we go, Jeanne like to eat wings and I like their All American burger. But what they really do well..if you ask..for crispy fries you'll get some of the best (if not the best) you'll ever consume. We like to go on the off hours when we feel like we have the place to ourselves.
